Insulated U-Bolts
Precision-engineered insulated U-bolts designed for the oil, gas, petrochemical, offshore, and process industries. Available in rubber and high-temperature silicone.
Our team can help with product selection, custom sizing and full technical documentation for demanding industrial environments.
What Are Insulated U-Bolts?
Insulated U-bolts are U-shaped support fasteners that are lined with rubber isolating material which is either flame-retardant neoprene or silicone elastomer, that separates the steel bolt from the pipe. This prevents electrolytic corrosion between metals and dampens noise and vibration transmitted through pipework.
At Vibra Manufacturing, our insulated U-bolts offer:
- Protection and pipework support.
- Electrical isolation provided through a durable dielectric coating.
- Protective sleeves and washers to help reduce wear and surface damage.
- Flexible sizing and material options for diverse applications.
- Proven performance in both conventional and offshore operating environments.
Insulated u-bolts are engineered specifically for demanding industrial environments, including industries such as:

Industries and Applications
Our insulated u-bolts are specified across a wide range of sectors where pipe integrity, vibration control and corrosion prevention are essential.
- Oil, gas and offshore: withstanding marine environments, saline atmospheres, and dynamic loading on subsea and topside pipework.
- Petrochemical: supporting stainless and duplex pipe runs in chemical environments.
- Shipbuilding and marine: lightweight, corrosion resistant supports for onboard pipe systems.
- Manufacturing and process facilities: supporting insulated process and pipework in production facilities, minimising heat loss, reducing vibration and preventing corrosion at support points.
- Power generation: securing high temperature pipework where thermal expansion and vibration need to be monitored.
Insulated U-Bolt Types Available
We manufacture three primary insulated U-bolt types, and each is available for stainless steel pipes and culpro nickel pipes, covering pipe sizes from 15NB up to 300NB.

Lining Options
The lining configuration selected determines the level of vibration isolation, pipe restraint and allowance for thermal movement.
Rubber Lined – Grip Type
A durable rubber lining designed to reduce vibration transmission and protect the pipe surface from metal-to-metal contact.
Available in both plain and Serrated configurations, depending on the level of grip required. The serrated option provides increased resistance to pipe movement and slippage whilst maintaining excellent vibration isolation and pipe protection.
Suitable for general industrial, marine and process pipework applications where pipe restraint and vibration control are required.
Rubber & PTFE Lined – Non-Grip Type
A combination of rubber and PTFE designed for applications where controlled pipe movement is required.
The rubber layer provides vibration isolation and cushioning, whilst the PTFE facing offers a low-friction interface that allows thermal expansion and contraction of the pipework.
Suitable for applications where vibration reduction and pipe movement are both critical considerations.
PTFE Properties
The PTFE facing provides excellent chemical resistance and is suitable for use in demanding environments involving acids, alkalis and a wide range of industrial chemicals. Its low coefficient of friction helps reduce resistance to thermal movement within pipe support systems.
HT/FR Silicone Lined – Grip Type
Working temperature range: -70°C to +300°C
A high-temperature, flame-retardant silicone elastomer designed for applications where conventional rubber materials are unsuitable. The silicone lining provides excellent vibration isolation, pipe protection and long-term performance across a wide temperature range.
Available in both plain and serrated configurations, depending on the level of grip required.
Suitable for high-temperature industrial, offshore, marine and power generation applications.
HT/FR Silicone & PTFE Lined – Non-Grip Type
Combining high-temperature silicone with a PTFE facing, this configuration provides both vibration isolation and a low-friction surface to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction of pipework.
Suitable for applications where elevated temperatures and controlled pipe movement are both required.
Silicone Properties
HT/FR silicone elastomer offers excellent resistance to heat, weathering, ozone and ageing whilst maintaining flexibility over a wide temperature range. The material is flame-retardant, chemically inert and particularly suited to demanding industrial and offshore environments.
Why Choose Insulated U-Bolts from Vibra Manufacturing?
Corrosion Protection
The elastomer lining provides separation between the U-bolt and pipework, helping to reduce the risk of galvanic corrosion and metal-to-metal contact in demanding industrial and marine environments.
Grip and Non-Grip
Available in both Grip and Non-Grip designs to suit individual project requirements. Grip configurations provide enhanced pipe restraint, whilst Non-Grip options utilise a low-friction PTFE interface to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction.
Noise & Vibration Reduction
The elastomer lining helps absorb vibration and reduce structurally transmitted noise, protecting both the pipework and supporting structure whilst improving system longevity.
