Rubber Strips and Sealing Strips

Vibra Manufacturing is a UK manufacturer of bespoke rubber strips, sealing strips and specialist clamp linings, manufactured to customer dimensions, drawings and application requirements.

Rubber Strips and Sealing Strips

Bespoke Rubber Strips

A rubber strip is a flat, uniform length of rubber cut to a specified width and thickness, commonly used for sealing, cushioning, gap filling and vibration control.

At Vibra Manufacturing, rubber strips can be manufactured and cut to customer dimensions depending on the application and quantity required.

Typical applications include:

  • Sealing and gap filling
  • Cushioning and protection
  • Anti-vibration applications
  • Machinery and equipment
  • Pipe support and clamping applications
  • Industrial fabrication
  • General engineering

Rubber strips are also widely used across industry for edge protection, draught exclusion, and weatherproof sealing.

Rubber Strips and Sealing Strip Materials

Depending on the application and operating environment, we can manufacture products using a range of materials, including:

  • Natural Rubber (NR)
  • EPDM Rubber
  • Nitrile Rubber (NBR)
  • Neoprene Rubber (CR)
  • Silicone Rubber

Material selection will depend on factors including temperature, environmental exposure, oils and chemicals, flexibility and required service conditions. EPDM offers strong weather and ozone resistance, Nitrile is suited to oil and fuel exposure, Neoprene provides a balance of both and Silicone is used where higher operating temperatures are involved.

Rubber, PTFE and Silicone Clamp Linings

Vibra Manufacturing manufactures a range of specialist clamp strips and clamp linings for pipe support and industrial clamping applications.

These can be supplied in a number of configurations depending on the application, including:

  • Rubber clamp strips and linings
  • Rubber/PTFE clamp linings for non-grip and low-friction applications
  • Silicone clamp strips for applications requiring higher temperature performance
  • High-temperature and flame-retardant silicone clamp strips where specified

Clamp strips and linings can be manufactured to customer dimensions, drawings and specifications, with different widths, thicknesses and profiles available depending on the application.

PTFE faced clamp linings provide a low coefficient of friction, allowing controlled movement between a clamp and the surface it secures. Useful in applications involving thermal expansion or structural movement.

Rubber Sealing Strips

We manufacture rubber sealing strips to customer dimensions for industrial sealing, cushioning and protective applications.

If you have an existing sample, drawing or specification, our team can review your requirements and advise on a suitable material and manufacturing method.

Bespoke Moulded Rubber Components

In addition to rubber strips, sealing strips and clamp linings, Vibra Manufacturing specialises in bespoke moulded rubber components for industrial applications.

Components can be manufactured to customer drawings, samples and specifications, supporting both replacement parts and new applications where an off-the-shelf rubber product is not suitable.

Contact us with your dimensions, drawing, sample or application requirements to discuss your project.

Rubber Sheeting and Rubber Pads By Industry

At Vibra Manufacturing, we work with a range of different industries to supply high-quality rubber sheeting and pads.

Construction rubber sheeting is used for surface protection, packing pieces, and gasket material cut to suit fabricated steelwork and structural joints. General engineering and machinery rubber pads and sheeting provide vibration isolation under machinery, equipment mounting, and wear-resistant surface lining for equipment housings. Marine and offshore rubber sheeting and pads provide vibration damping and gasket material resistant to saltwater and weathering exposure.

These are just some of the sectors we work with. Rubber sheeting and pads are used wherever a surface requires protection, a gap needs filling, or vibration needs isolating. Send us your application, dimensions or a sample, and our team will advise on the right material and manufacturing approach for your specific requirement.

How to Specify a Bespoke Rubber Strip or Sealing Strip

To order rubber strips or sealing strips:

  • Confirm your dimensions: Include width, thickness and length.
Tell us about your operating environment: Temperature range, exposure to oils, fuels, chemicals, UV or moisture.
  • Choose a starting material: If you’re unsure which rubber sheeting material is suitable, reach out directly for advice.
  • Provide a sample or drawing if available: An existing part, technical drawing or specification is useful, but it’s not essential.
  • Confirm quantity required: Whether it’s a one-off replacement part or an ongoing production requirement, we will advise on pricing and lead time based on your requirements.

Rubber Strips and Sealing Strips Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a rubber strip and a rubber sealing strip?

A rubber strip is a flat length of rubber which is used for cushioning, gap filling, or vibration control. A rubber sealing strip is manufactured for the same basic form but specified to create a barrier against dust, moisture, air or chemicals, and is fitted around doors, panels, enclosures or machinery.

How do I measure a rubber strip or sealing strip for my application?

Measure the width and thickness of the gap or surface you need to cover, along with the total length required. If you are replacing an existing rubber strip, the old piece can be used as a sample or point of reference.

What temperature range can rubber strips withstand?

Temperature capability depends on the material grade and application. Silicone is commonly selected for higher-temperature applications, while EPDM, Nitrile, Neoprene and Natural Rubber each offer different operating ranges and environmental resistance.

Contact us with your required temperature range and application conditions, and we can advise on a suitable material.

Can rubber strips be cut to a specific width, thickness and length?

Yes. At Vibra Manufacturing, we manufacture and cut rubber strips to customer requirements rather than supplying only standard off-the-shelf rolls.

Please provide your required dimensions, or an existing sample or drawing, and the team can confirm what can be manufactured.

Are rubber strips resistant to oils and chemicals?

Resistance varies significantly by the rubber material that is required. Nitrile is specifically suited to oil and fuel exposure, whereas EPDM may perform poorly with oils but well with chemicals, weathering and steam.
